I used to use sites like legalzoom until i found out how incredible easy it is to do yourself. Every state has a government website where you can register your business and it takes like 10 minutes.

By the way, don't believe sites that say "register a company for only $99" or whatever. What that means is you are paying them $99 to file the company for you, but you still need to pay the applicable registration fees for your state. Here in Nevada it is $400, I think it is $800 in California.

The $99 filing fee is for something that takes 5-10 minutes doing it on your own.

I'm a 3L in law school and this kind of stuff is taught in 1 lecture in the first business law class

I have tried those sites and found that they really are for the lazy or extremely ignorant.

Anybody can fill out a form to start an LLC. It is extremely easy as long as you understand how you want your LLC to be set up.

Basic advice: until you do figure it out, just set up your LLC as a generic sole proprietor... you have time to change it as your business changes or you decide you want to have partners.

This, just do it through the normal channels, middlemen are worthless.

Also I highly recommend doing it through Delaware, it really hasn't been any extra hassle and we save mountains of money on our taxes.

Scam. Setting up an llc takes an hour. You can do it online.

the goverment has a website like that. you just need to read the instructions. it is free and easy.
