is it true supermarkets typically overstock on candy for halloween season, and afterwards the remaining candy is put on clearance?

and not just for halloween but other holidays like christmas, easter, 4th of july, etc.?

basically, is it true that buying candy after the holiday sales is cheaper than buying during the sale?

Have you never fucking walked into a store after Halloween?
Were you literally born yesterday?

Where do you live that you didn't already know this?
Demand drops radically after Halloween.

Where I live in NYC, I remember it didn't happen last year. Went to a bunch of supermarkets for around a week, and the price of candy wasn't put on clearance.

I had heard that stores had stopped the clearance sales and, due to the longevity of candy, would rather just sell the stock off and put off new orders for a time.

I remember a teacher giving us candy still in the Halloween package in like April one time. Everyone was freaking out and making fun of her. I didn't care though I loved candy.
