That sucks. Keep in mind that most of Vanguard's stuff has a minimum first-time contribution limit (I think it's usually 3-10k minimum to contribute into an IRA). Otherwise they're great and have cheap upkeep fees.

I'm personally saving up for a Vanguard emerging market buy while feeding the few indices that my employer offers (my employer also matches a whopping $100 annually so I have that going for me, I guess).

Your benefits aren't awful. My SO's employer matches 100% up to some crazy amount. She makes a lot but she invests in government (US) bonds and specific companies though. Her investments hardly cover inflation.

if you are an economic veteran ,then you would know the ONLY time to buy stocks, is after a crash, because crashes are inevitable, sudden, and devastating, especially if you are leveraged.


while ur waiting for the crash. you should deal in commodities and bonds.
