PATENT IT.

If its not patentable, then its not your idea.

1) your idea is 99% not good to begin with

2) the idea is worthless as long as it only exists as an idea

3) first person to market is the only way to protect it

Why can't you patent it? Only way to deter someone from stealing is patent. But even that won't stop someone from building a better mouse trap.
