Anyone importing from here? I'm considering importing some stuff but honestly have no idea what I'm doing yet. Not sure if I want to sell online or distribute in my city. Anyone with experience here?

make sure the seller is store verified
if you make an inquiry, you get bombarded with emails
things with variable quality (eg. batteries, minerals) are usually ingenuine claims.
for smaller orders, use aliexpress.

legend, thanks for the tips.
Anyone have any ideas about choosing good products? e.g. ways to evaluate the market. I am noob.

What do you plan on importing is the real question.
I'll help.

Something small and light would be ideal. I live in New Zealand so shipping out here will be a problem. I also live in a flat and have limited $$ to start with.
I was hoping to start with a spend of $500ish on some generic product, perhaps brand it, then either sell online or distribute around my city.
This is as far as I have gotten (just started enquiring). I've been trying to use google trends and such to figure out what a good product could be but there isn't much info on my relatively small country. Also I lack inside knowledge.
Can you work with that?
I buy from Taobao.com mostly

>Taobao.
What is the advantage of this over Alibaba?

you do know western people also sell on aliexpress? then why it says it comes from china? they use chinas warehouses that hold lot of items for a cheap fee and ship it to your costumer if you give them the buyers invoice.
altough there are some chinese direct seller too but very little.
also taobao is much closer to source of the item.

I have heard of this, although I admit only recently as I've only just begun researching this kind of thing.
What exactly do you mean by "also taobao is much closer to source of the item."?
