/biz/ what do u do when u want an german domain but its already taken? I want to expand my business to germany and the domain i want is spelled in german. Would an <englishtranslation>.de also work? That one is free.
the german spelled one.com is free, would .com be good?
I'm struggling between .de and .com.
Any suggestions would be fine too.
Thx in advance biz

.com is king
but I'm not familiar with German customers specifically so ask it on some german SEO forums
I'd say .de is the better choice even if you use the english word

Personally, I don't like it because sometimes I switch between English and German versions of a site and that's why I prefer yourcompany.com/de/. Trust me, it's more confusing if you have two different domains.

It depends on the product you want to sell but I'd say that people trust a .de domain a bit more than others (at least mid-age / older people) because they immediately think a german company runs it. Yes we still like "muh german quality" and stuff...

I've been thinking about this as well. Problem is, I'm selling in the Netherlands right now under a dutch name/brand so i can't really use that name and be like .com/de if that makes sense to you.

Thanks man, this is something I was looking for. I sell to schools/municipality's so its mostly mid-age-old people that should find(and trust) my site.

The german customers prefer .de
.com is always suspicious to them
