They invest your unsettled funds after a trade. It's also pretty basic software.
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> Is this the place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
Yep
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or Yahoo/Google finance for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

>If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free Riding' violations?
No, it's not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you don't have instant, RH won't let you buy with unsettled funds.
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

>The first step would be to hire an experienced hedge fund attorney. This would be the most expensive option, and for many hedge funds it means that they have less capital available to recruit experienced team members or invest in software. Don't be mistaken by those who say you only need a small amount of money to get everything in place and start a hedge fund, as many funds spend over $1 million in their early stages. Others may start a fund with only $10,000, but the point is that there is always another team member to recruit, resource to obtain or capital raising expert who can help you get to the next level to hire. As a reference point, most hedge fund managers start their businesses with $15,000-50,000. Of course, there are plenty of exceptions who spend up to $350,000 in startup costs.

>Another option would be to not fully form your hedge fund, and instead try to find a hedge fund incubation or emerging manager platform solution. These platforms seem to always be coming and going in the industry, but the business model here is that the emerging manager platform allows you to start trading in your hedge fund and seeking investors while building an audited track record within their larger legal structure.

>The final option is to use a hedge fund formation template service, to cut costs and reduce your startup expenses by 60-90%. A hedge fund formation template service allows you to start your hedge fund using the same legal templates that high-end $20,000 formation attorneys use, while not taking up the attorneys valuable time. Hedge fund formation templates can be purchased for $5,000-7,000, and give you the freedom (and responsibility) to approach this step in a hands-on fashion. Though you will be saving a large amount of money, there still may be a chance that you will require further legal representation down the road.

NYC guy who was asking for your email here.

I spoke to a guy who trades for SIG. He said that a lot of firms already do similar things with NLP for bigger stocks and maybe your system is profitable because the scale is too small for ppl throwing around big money. But it doesn't hurt to pitch your stuff to prop shops and hedge funds even if you haven't finished yet.

On a positive note this means that you could potentially be profitable until you're too rich for your system.

He also said banks might not be too interested - but I'll run it by ppl who actually work for the big banks this weekend, once they're released from le slave labor.

I never understood this. If this thing is up 130%+ how is that too small for people throwing around big money? If you hypothetically threw in 1.2 million when I initially announced this, you would have 3.9 million.

Interesting to know though. The AI and code are scalable. I've only set it to microcaps because the reward usually outweighs the risk (in most cases).

Wouldn't one institution buying that much at once have unpredictable effects on the stock? Especially since this system is reliant on having a relatively low float.

you have to gradually throw it in over a period of time

if you buy 100,000 shares at one time its a monumental error, but if you creep in 1000 shares every so often over a period of an hour or couple of minutes you load up on the stock without there being some weird activity in the stock

youre basically creating the volume flow for yourself so your stocks bought previously are constantly increasing in value as you buy up new ones

But gains like this on ~$100k investments would definitely be significant.
About to break $7 btw.
>>
>>1526340
Ahh I misread then.

So yeah, on a large scale we can't buy that many shares and so with a large amount of money all our cash wouldn't benefit from that trade(although we shouldnt have all our clients money in 1 stock anyway lol).

>does buying/selling stock need to be recorded when filing taxes?
Yes, you have to pay taxes on capital gains and losses.
Long-term (selling after a year) gains are taxed at a lower rate but I believe short-term gains are just regular income.
Stock value appreciation isn't taxable, but as soon as you sell it's income.

The 5-year isn't bugged, it's just that due to reverse splits one share of UVXY today is equal to $1.649 million worth of shares in October of 2011.
The 1 year also shows that it dropped this time last year and didn't fully recover until January, and it's retarded to hold leveraged ETFs for more than a day or two anyway.
>>
CASC NO!

Anybody using ameritrade know how they delineate between money market account and cash?

Shouldn't I have 800+ in my unsettled funds section instead of 500 or so in the money market account?

Do I have to manually switch that over or what? I've genuinely never earned a profit on anything other than RGSE and don't know how it works

>>
>>1526600
It might be differentiating between unsettled funds that you put into RGSE and funds that were already settled (which were automatically stuffed into your MMA).

They take your physical settled loot and put them into a MMA so they can use your own money to loan or buy shit with. It's kinda fucked up, but you do earn interest on it. So, I guess it's okay?

You can change your cash sweep vehicle to behave differently. I wouldn't advise fucking with it though.

ok boys, I need some help. I used all my day trades up. I turned pattern day trader protection OFF so I could exit my RGSE position. then I turned it back ON thinking that it would only keep me from buying RGSE again today.

did I mess up?
>>
>>1526629
>>1526616

“Shares outstanding” refers to the total shares that exist for a company. “Float” is the number of shares that are actually available for trading when you subtract restricted shares. In short, float is the amount of stock that is practically available for trading.
>>
>>1526634
yes understood

now please explain how the float can ever be larger than the total shares outstanding?

OK, so on OPTT it's showing 3.22M float but only 3.15M outstanding..

How is that possible?
>>

you can only close position within a 90 day period and to lift those restrictions you need to maintain at least 25 thousand in your account

People have been trying to solve it for years but they're taking a traditionalist approach. The market really doesn't make too much sense. You are forgetting that most people can't get into it at the moment. They'll have their eyes on it too. Most """traders""" are novice, so they'll end up jumping in and fucking themselves up at open. There needs to be more volume.

when should i buy tomorrow for SEED and at what limit

Hope you're all on the OPTT gain train. After hours looking strong
>>
Anon has a point, OPTT seems like a much stronger bet than SEED.

Agree/disagree???
>>
>>1526855

kk, good luck man.
>>
>SEED
Before anyone scurries to it, just WATCH it. Don't dive in head first. You'll break your neck. I don't even know how this is going to behave yet. My algo picked it up about a minute before the bell closed.

I would suggest looking at OPTT before SEED (or both).
>>
>>1526883
I'm waiting for the dip in the morning then I will buy more. That is just my plan, I am not a good trader.
>>
quick question, If I have a cash acct on robinhood, can I buy/sell multiple times in a day or am i limited in some sort
>>
>>1526886
Thanks for the clarification.
>>
>>1526890
When you sell the money from that sale gets tied up for 3 days
If you have other money just sitting available in your account then theres no restriction on what you can do with that
>>
>>1526886
Which API do you use to retrieve stock data?
>>
OPTT @ 7.67

How high will she go

Whats strategy for hopping back in if it continues past your limit sell
>>
>>1526901
Mid 8's modestly, potentially up to 10
>>
>>1526897
I just use the Robinhood API. You can also make use of MarkitOnDemand v2 API.

Implement IPC (message passing) to have the runner retrieve updates about the stock asynchronously.

>>
>>1526886
so does this just pick up shit that goes up in a short time? i'll watch but i'd be afraid to buy anything that's already went up that much
>>
>>1526915
I'm a very good programmer, and pretty good at picking stocks, so I'm curious. How much time have you spent developing and tweaking your algo?
>>
>>1526921
It gapped up. Just watch.

>>1526922
It only took me about a week or so. I'm in the process of building an AI module for it to screen through SEC filings and recent news articles though, that's taking a lot longer.
>>
If I buy OPTT in aftermarket today, and sell tomorrow, is that still a day trade?
>>
>>1526926
I'm sure you don't want to give away all your secrets, so I'll just ask one more question.

Does your algo index all available stocks on RobinHood to detect volume spikes and things like that, or by some other means?
>>
>>1526928
Yes.
>>
Did I miss the RGSE launch?
>>
Are Robin Hood sales instant
>>
>>1526926
There's a startup I saw on Angelinvestmentnetwork.com that claims to have an "AI Curator"
>>
>>1526941
yes for sure

the launch was yesterday

its been accelerating away from earth all day and potentially reached the apex of its orbit already

coming back down now most likely
>>
>>1526936
Well fuck my ass and call me linda
>>
>>1526932
Pull the list from elsewhere and store it in a DB. Then it asynchronously checks those symbols to compute any necessary data.

Fuckin holding on to Amrs & nvax (after it shit the bed ). Do I just sell or am I next on the launchpad!?
>>
>>1527135
literally who
>>
>>1527102
Also wondering what to do with my NVAX. Had high hopes, now just want to minimize damage. Not sure if I should put the order in at the bell or wait and see what happens.

I don't get it.. they just had a really good press release.
>>
>>1527102
Technicals showing that AMRS may be ready for another uptrend tomorrow. If not then accumulation phase is still on-going. I say if you have a better opportunity, sell AMRS. If not then just keep it.
>>
Does Frog Pimple understand that if his program works he has the power to make us all millionaires over the next few years. Just imagine a /biz/ where everyone is already rich. Noone would flood the board with what to do for easy money threads or how their life is shit threads.
>>
I can't wait for the piles of never ending money threads. Or where an image of a guy swimming in dollar bills won't be a Google stock image.
>>
>>1527207
whats her name, anon?

My girl is named DB11
>>
Fuck you AMDA stuck bagholding this gem for the next month at this rate. Need to get the fuck out at .97 somehow
>>
Hey iOS users: make sure you update Robinhood now in AH because they fixed the lag problem

>based Raspberry Pi bros from Palo Alto
>>

>>
>>1527255

just as shit anyways
>>
>>1527255
>HTBX
that shit is supposed to go up in DECEMBER 29TH
WHAT ARE YOU DOING
>>
>>1527263
Not him but I just put an order for 200 shares, do I continue it or stop it?
>>
>>1527270
the jump is supposed to be a result of a good Q4 earnings report

Q4 hasnt even started yet
>>
>>1527276
Why is the Q4 earnings report expected to be good?
>>
>>1527276
I thought I should buy in when it's low and hold it until it skyrockets. So cancel it? I'm kinda new to all this.
>>
>>1527278
idk
thats the only think i know about HTBX

that was the only reason anybody ever mentioned it was because of the Q4 earning report

>>1527279
if you want to wait for december then sure
>>
>>1527270
If the Q4 earnings report is good. It'll be priced in slowly over the course of the quarter. Buy in now and hold.
>>
>>1527279
Stop trading. Until you have a single fucking clue what you're doing
>>
>>1527280
>>1527285
Alright

>>1527290
You're not wrong. I will look into it and not make any more trades until I understand more
>>
>>1527155
Well I bought in when they crashed thinking it'll go up but it's hovering.

>>1527188
I'm going to hold a little longer. Let's hope for a blastoff
>>
Watchi4ng seed in the morning and hoping jnug takes off
>>
SEED
OPTT
EKSO

RGSE should still see some movement tomorrow as well, potential to make some money
>>
>>1527419
Seed is already up 32% in after hours trading frog pimple was right again.
>>
Anyone else ready for the thld moon ride on Thursday
>>
>>1527459
Everyone saw that coming after they paused trading for the $60 million announcement. I expect the volume to pick back up in PM and then the momentum to carry into the day. Just buy and ride the jump at open.
>>
So who's picking up $UWTI tomorrow? OPEC striking a deal or what? Iran are pussies
>>

Its not hindsight. When they closed trading everyone knew what was coming given that they made a sale of PART of their company for more than their entire market cap.
>>
>>1526372
Gains are taxed only. You won't be taxed on losses. You pay your current income tax bracket on your Gains assuming you held for 1 year before selling it. It's taxed even higher if you sell before the year is up. I'm having trouble myself finding exactly what to pay in addition to the income tax bracket when swing trading
