What are some boring stocks you like?

I have too much tech and big brand stuff like Disney in my portfolio. I need some more "plain" options like gas or mining companies, I just don't know where to start.

For example, I love Waste Management ($WM). Trash is recession proof and isn't going anywhere due to new tech.

There's always commodities.

You should look into utilities.
I like $NRG because it's pretty volatile, but there's safer plays like $PNW. I'd suggest double checking any of these to make sure they're not significantly invested in coal. Coal has been getting assblasted by regulation costs and it's increasingly becoming a huge burden.

is it ever a good idea to invest in commodities?

For gas and mining I would suggest:

Miner ETFs

Junior miner ETFs

MLP ETF/ETN (these are kinda like a reit)

$URRE

I think I'l put some money into steel and NRG on monday (I believe my mom owns NRG as well).

What I also like about WM is how safe and sturdy its climb has been. Can anyone show me some simolar "boring" options with nice clean upward trends like this?
