What does /biz/ think of aeropostale stock? I have a feeling that the recent purchase of aeropostale by these mall owners might be a good thing for the company. Should I drop $200 On 5000 shares? Or is this just wishful thinking?

Let me guess. You think the ultra-low share price means it's a bargain?

Didn't aerospatiale get eaten by BaE Systems?

That's exactly what I think

The company has about 20m in cash assets presently. Yet the market values the company only at 4m or so. This doesn't make it a bargain, it makes it priced for liquidation. The market essentially knows that the company's various creditors will claim all the assets, especially the cash, in the likely event of liquidation.

I'd avoid. It got bought by Simon Group and General growth properties. They basically picked the most profitable sites to keep Simon and GGP rolling in money until they can liquidate. That company isn't long for this world.

This, fashion is not a stable investment, unless you can predict something taking off (and that's hard to do, considering how unpredictable teenage girls are).
