Hey /biz/
I recently turned 18 and I'm still in my senior year in high school. My question is what should I do to prepare myself for the future? I've always wanted to be a businessman but that sounds like an extremely vague term. Specifically what should I research? What are my options? How much should I save up before I go into any sort of trading? I'm planning to pursue this on the side, until I hit college. Thanks for your help.

Get a job and start saving. When you graduate, blow it on escorts and weed. Join the marine Corp, kill some muzzies then come back home for free college.

If you have this many questions, you should NOT be enrolling in college. Get a full time job, save some money, and make long-term life decisions after you have some real world experience (which you will NOT find at college).
You will thank me when you turn 24 and realize that all your friends that went to college are massively in debt, and your real world job experience outweighs their women's studies degree.

you can generate a revenue stream or asset and then build a business around that. Trading would fall into that category if you somehow consistently make money at it.
businessmen in general buy a product or service from a supplier and sell it to an end user.
of the two, products and services, services are by far the more lucrative. Of the various end users you may sell to, businesses and governments are by far the more lucrative.
so you will find most businessmen sell services to businesses and governments.
some businessmen sell services to the public.
some sell products to businesses and governments.
some sell products to the public.
these are listed in descending order from most profitable to least. Selling goods to the public is the least profitable business to be in, and the only one most people can imagine.

I'll probably be traumatized.

What jobs would you recommend?

Thanks for that explanation. I have a question though. Let's say for example someone needs me to sell a product or a service to a company, exactly how would they end up hiring me? How do I gain experience in this type of field?

>exactly how would they end up hiring me?
a help wanted ad is standard. Post the position on internet job search sites, that sort of thing.
>How do I gain experience in this type of field?
go to work for a company that sells to other businesses.
/18yoinhs/ here too, trying to move out but I know it will suck the life out of me and my wallet.
