So I'm graduating Geology next year...
Yeah, dont bother. I know im fucked. I'm just wondering what other industries would be compatible with my degree. Anyone else in a similar situation that can give advice?

I don't get how you knew what you were getting into yet you did it

You should go on tinder and pose as a female. Ive noticed that there are ALOT of young males looking for a female geologist to examine large bones they presumably found during excavation.
Geology = fucked?
Assuming you're at a top 20 uni, then go into the petroleum industry?

well, best uni in my country. I live in EU
Going into O&G(oil and gas) was my plan initially, but unless the industry suddenly goes up again this year I dont really have a shot. I have no intership nor relevant work experience.

I'm a pilot, but i have a degree in geology. there's a ton of other good fields to get into besides petroleum. Any mineral or resource is great to get into. Or anything working with the government pays well. there's quite more jobs in this field than you think. Also, teach yourself programming. all any of the companies care about that hire these fields is that you have a science degree, and have experience programming. my girlfriend works in recruiting and she gets people (that get hired at 80k salaries) with degrees in things like archeology, not even joking.

to add on, geology is one of the better degrees to get right now, if you know what you're doing at least. it can make a six figure salary relatively quickly, although the market is dying. With all the interest in electricity, industries such as lithium are going to start to boom bigtime in the near future.

Yeah, I've been trying to learn programming for a while now but its just so abysmally boring I can hardly get around it.

i'm in the same boat. i'm teaching it to myself as a backup, but it takes forever, and i seriously suck at it, however, i'm confident that i will get really good at it with time and practice.

but seriously, my girlfriend works in recruiting and recruits for a number of large businesses. you'd be surprised what companies would hire you with. you don't need anything in a related field for most high end job, just a bachelors degree to show that you're professional.

Well, I hope thats true. Because I have no means of gaining relevant work experience or internships where I live
