im interested in making a firm that specializes in applying superconductors in already existing technology in order to improve its performance and scalability.

is this a viable venture in your eyes /biz/? i'd start off with just wires, then wound wires for electromagnets, then AC/DC motors for automobiles, then go into CMOS for cameras and sensors, MOSFETs in general for boosted range, CPUs, and hopefully build myself a superconducting empire at that point.

thoughts? would you invest?

Do you even science bro?

How do you convince people to keep their equipment at - 180 degrees centigrade just for 'better performance'?

Their electricity bill is going to skyrocket or do you want to do it by continously pouring liquid Nitrogen on it? In either case they are going to have a huge maintenance bill. How would you defend that?

"your computer will work much more effectively as long as we cool these parts down to - 200 degrees and keep it at those temperatures. You will likely need a sealed container for your computer and you risk hurting yourself if you plug in a USB so better stop plugging stuff into it. And any moving cables like headset and mouse might break due to the porosity of metals at those temperatures. So avoid moving them too much. "
