Hold XMR.

It will pump again when XMR gets added to Alphabay.

Anyone know what the biggest DNMs are?

He's not going to dump his ETC because he's never going to get it on an exchange ,on top of that a large short position was placed just before the ETH hack so he's already made his money and doesn't need to cash out the ETC and even if he was going to dump his ETC he's not going to do it right now when the price is rock bottom and all eyes are on his ETC.
>>
>>1474130
thats my point, but i dont think he would have a problem moving it to exchanges if he wanted to, there are ways to obfuscate the source to buy him at least long enough to use a large number of exchange accounts simultaneously.

Can anyone tell me exactly what happened with ethereum and why it's such a shit show?

From my understanding. Ether is doing good, they release the DAO. Some guy finds a flaw in the code and retrieves like 20 million dollars worth of ethereum. Then the ether devs hack the guy who stole all the DAO ether and get a good 80% of it back. And that guy still has that remaining 20%? And they still did the hard fork which leaves us with a really meh coin that is 10% of the price of ETH?

And now some white hat group is releasing 'ETC white hat?' What the fuck is all of this? This is fucking ridiculous.

The ether devs didn't hack the hacker they hacked the DAO as well and called it a white hat attack but at this stage nobody knew who this white hack group was ,later they tried to put a portion of the funds on poloniex but polo froze those funds and then it turned out that the stolen funds were from an ethereum dev.

Tl;dr Ethereum devs tried to cash out millions of ETH that they themselves stole.
>>
>>1476925
Fuck me.
If that's true why is nobody talking about it?
>>
>>1476925

im trying to get my head around Ethereum (im not a programmer, just uni student studying cyber security)

Need someone to bottom line this for me. What is a hard fork?

I've reading few a couple of articles and they all mention the hard fork happened and how bitcoin has failed and ether was returned.

I'm going out on a limb but the community changed/rewrote the code to restore the blockchain (gaining control over the funds in childDAO) So now Ethereum and Ethereum Classic exist as tradeable currencies???
>>
>>1477048
Yes, the majority wanted the hard fork to save peoples shitty investments so the devs implemented it and most switched over but there are some sore losers that still support the old chain (ETC) but the devs aren't working on it. If you held ether before fork you can now trade it on both chains
>>
>>1476998

I fucking wish.

I just want access to the group so we can all get insider info and actually make money. The only thing /biz/ can actually collaborate on that nobody will fucked over from.
>>
>>1477048
A permanent divergence in the the block chain, commonly occurs when non-upgraded nodes can’t validate blocks created by upgraded nodes that follow newer consensus rules.

That is what a hard fork is.
>>

Thanks, I just checked, pretty good ups and downs.

I want to get in trading cryptos next week. Right now I analyze the market and research the coins.
Do you guys know all of the coins that are on Poloniex for example?
Do you make trades with coins you have never heard of or just stick with the ones you know?
I'm planning to make a cheat sheet for myself where I write a few lines of each coins if I need to decide fast.
(like short history, advantages, reliability, popularity)
Will it help me on the long term or just watch and analyze the price chart?
Thanks for any advice from experienced traders!

Otherwise they could tank 50% while you're sleeping for no real reason.

Myriad is a very cheap coin, on polo, genuinely useful innovation that could prove to be revolutionary in cryptos some day. Bitcoin is still an experiment, and we don't know for sure if sha256d mining will ever be sufficiently decentralised. Look at Myriad's leddit, pretty active community. The coin is multi-algo with a CPU mining option which is more profitable than Monero for the past week. There's even a GUI for Windoze noobs to mine on their CPU. No premine, one of the most honest coins out there IMO. Don't have the IQ of a dung beetle, get in on MYR.

Cryptocurrency will have "only" 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 or some ultra mega super huge amount like that
You dont actually mine coins, you mine shares (for the lack of a better word).
After X years the total amount of coins I said is distributed to those that mines, based on the amount of shares they have.
No extra coin can be mined
>>
>>1486454

You could just set a limit on how much can be mined, like bitcoin has. You could go with your theory but why would anyone do that when they can get real coins instead?

>You could go with your theory but why would anyone do that when they can get real coins instead?
They get real coins, but only after the timeline ends. They all get their coins based on the amount of shares they mined.

The point is that
1-The amount of coint is limited
2-there is enought coins for "any situation"
2.1-the one I said assume world populated with the populational density of monaco
2.3-Also assume 1 guy is super meta ultra poor and has one coin of the most hyperinflated currency ever, july 1946 hungary currency, while the rest of the world has EACH ONE the total world money of the time
3-All coins are given at the exact same time, so there are no coins in the future to be given to people.
>>
>>1486483

1. Already true for crypto

2. No one wants developer interference

And absolutely no one will buy make believe shares of digital currency when so many alternatives are available that give them real digital currency. Your plan provides no value to crypto and actively discredits it.

Bitcoin might go full vampire mode on Altcoins in the next few months like it did in 2013.

It's hard to predict since it will behave very non-linear.
Basically once Bitcoin begins to rise really strong Altcoins depreciate in BTC terms and rise only slightly in USD terms. Only very late during BTC pump, when it is like 80-90% over, Altcoins will come back massive again. This will be the time when many BTC newcomers first Altcoins and think BTC is too expensive.
>>
>>1486634
The word shares as used on the idea has nothing to do real world stocks, it was just a name I used that may not be the best one.
This just means that instead of mining coins, you mine shared.
The day X of the month Y, and year Z and GMT W would begin and then the coins would be distributed between people.

Imagine the total amount of coins this cryptocurrency will have is 100 and so, 100 coins are distributed at this day (since ALL coins are distributed at the same day).
Also imagine that, at this day one guy A has one share and another one B has 9 shares and no one else has shares.

Guy A will receive 10 coins and guy B will receive 90 coins. This will happen because guy A has 10% of the total amount of shares and 10% of 100 coins is 10, and guy b has 90% of the total amount of shares and 90% of 100 is 90.

So the amount of coins you will receive will be related to the amount of shared you mined until the day X of the month Y, and year Z and GMT W.

After you receive your coins, your share is discarded, it was just something used to:
1-Make sure every coin is distributed at the exact same moment
2-Make sure people can and must mine coins and so you dont have some developer (or group of developer) that have all the coins in their hands and will distribute it only when they use those coins.

Riding a pump is uncomfortable as fuck. Most people are going to get hurt no matter whether they are bullish or bearish. There are just too many traps to fall into.

I had a portfolio of value Altcoins (Warren Buffet like selected).
During the XMR pump, I cut my position in half @0.0157 and again @0.0212.
Then I bought a little more but sold it again after the market felt wreid.

I think I know what you are into.

Are you trying to make sure the cryptocurrency not devaluate or inflate, by making sure ALL the coins are distributed and go into curculation at the exact same time, also giving an huge ass amount of coins to make sure no more coins are needed to accomodate any amount of humans(and so no new coins need to be made) ?

Also your idea would most likely lead to fractions.

How do I calculate the price of an alt coin, when it's pair wit BTC. For example, I bought SDC at 0.00280358 BTC and then I want to sell it at 0.003 BTC, how much profit do I make per coin?

Is there a math formula? Say Bitcoin is at $500, and the altcoin is at 0.002 BTC, how do I calculate the value of the altcoin.

Thanks in advance.

>durr how do I use a calculator

does /biz/ recommend poloniex or no?
>>
>>1487741
Bruh, thats some basic fucking math there.
[((Current BTC Value of Altcoin) * Quantity of Altcoin)) - ((Initial Purchased BTC Value of Altcoin* Quantity of Altcoin)) * Price of 1 BTC in USD or whatever currency] = Total profit from transaction.
>>
>Start watching crypto-related videos on Youtube
>right-wing red pill bullshit starts getting recommended to me.

You're all a bunch of shit sacks...
>>
>>1487756
Some people suck at math. Thanks bruh.

Next up, I'm trading in Polo and Bittrek, is there a way to auto sell my SDC. I have 40 SDC, bought at 0.0028, and I want to auto sell at 0.0030?

I wish I have a mentor but I'm asking you guys, thanks so much
>>
>>1487756
Way to make it sound harder than it is anon

Price of alt in BTC * amount =total BTC

Price you want to sell at * amount. = sell amount in BTC

Find the difference

BTC sell rate - BTC start rate = profit

Now multiply that number * value of 1 BTC in usd

Although I like to just multiply value in usd by amount of alt coins

And further more I don't even need to into all that math just check in the sell box what its worth ffs
>>
>>1487768
So there is a stop limit box in polo, how do I auto sell my SDC at 0.0030?
>>
>>1487792
Set the stop so that it makes the order, the limit is what it will be sold for.
Example: Stop at .31 and your limit is .30, you will make the order when it touches .31 and automatically sell your SDC for .30 if someone buys it. Or you can just put the values the same.
You should really read the guide on Polo.

All depends on what BTC does. If it becomes 700ish really fast then Alts are probably going down. No matter if they are XMR or ETH.

Buy BTC (amount depending on your budget / how much risk you want to take) and transfer it to a crypto exchange and start. You need to watch the market a lot and see an early uptrend. If you ride the right wave you can make ~300$ within a few minutes if you're lucky.
You also have to take some risk... I missed a gain of about 200$ because I sold too early right before a big push because I was scared it would go down again

Forgot to mention that half of my money is in it. Right now the price is 1/10 of Monero and SDC has the same if not better potential.
Privacy developments and coming built in TOR interface, awesome developers.. I really think it's gonna be big.
I'd hold it at least till Monday because of the announcements.

The other coin I have money in now is DGB
If you analyze the chart you can see that before big pumps there were smaller but significant little pumps.
We had 2 of them in the last 30 days and no big pumps lately so I think we don't have to wait too long for another HUGE pump.
