Did you bring kneepads to the interviews? Because if not, I think you know what to do next time.
>>
>>1463563

People skills are more important than book smart. Are you autistic?
>>
>>1463858

I've never even got an interview before.

Furtherest I have got is video interview.

There is still hope for my last non-rejected application. I'm probably going to hear a response by tomorrow about whether or not get get an AC/interview invite. Praise kek.
>>
>>1463563
I just started as a teller at a bank.

I feel pretty positive about my career path.

Should've started eating a banana half way through, so they know you're good at swallowing hard information.

guess what - if u had spend 1/1000th of the time you spend stuying for socialising and getting to know people who also know peoples and companies in general you wouldn't have that problem

you can be the best there is in the whole goddamn world - when i apply for the same position and my resume gets brought to HR by somebody in the company ala 'you owe me a favor' your whole effort means exactly nothing and will put you and your application in the trash where you belong if you after years of higher education and time to think about the world and your surroundings still couldn't figure this out on your own
>>
>>1463873
tell me this is high-level bait.

sorry friend, that is the ultimate low-middle class "i'm gonna make it" position, and it very rarely leads to something worth it.
>>
>>1463999
Chase private client rep where I used to work earned $300,000+ last year

Pretty sure if you're not a complete fuckup you can make it starting at teller. Worst case scenario you're a $60k per year banker helping old people read the numbers off their credit cards in airconditioned comfort

I fear this too OP
Fuck this nepothism shit, I hope you find a position soon, after you studied for it you should get it.
I hate when the fuckers even reject from internships that are relevant to you, at least give the person a chance.
>>
>>1463563
Start lifting bro. When the employer sees that you are a Chad, only then will you get hired.

maybe you should have got some internships or something
>>

Enjoy being lead teller in 5 years, you might be a branch manager in 10 making 40k
>>
>>1463563

Bro you are me from ten years ago. Good grades, degree in Finance, CFA level 1.

Bro, there was no finance job for a kid with average social skills and no connections. I now sell shit on ebay.
>>
>>1463563
You need to make some connections. If you're just firing off resumes to big banks through their websites or whatever, you've got basically no chance. Does your local CFA society put on social events? You can usually go even if you're not a member for a slightly higher price. Get business cards printed, go, and talk to everyone you can. Let them know you're a CFA candidate and you're looking for CB opportunities.

I'm applying for internships.

Also update: got rejected by my last application after video interview. Fuck this gay earth.

This is really fucking depressing.
>>
>>1465705

>after video interview

Don't worry they just rejected you for you as a person. Interviews are all about "do I want to work with this person"

work on your autism kid

do some interviews for jobs you don't want for practice. This is your fault for not doing internships while in school idiot.
>>
>>1465705
Smile more and take care of your looks.
>>
>>1463563
This is gonna ring hollow, but it's gonna be OK.

I've been rejected for some things back in the day, and years in retrospect I was really fucking glad it happened. Case in point (and speaking generally), I ran for a certain position in school that would have eaten up my entire year in terms of work and which I really, really wanted. Got denied the position because some people didn't like me and some milquetoast girl got the position. I ended up using the year to hit a lot of personal achievements - got published in an academic journal, got a certification, made a shit ton of money freelancing, etc. Not all situations are like that but, of course, had you asked me how I felt right after I got rejected, I would have basically thought my shit was over.

In translation: shift gears a bit. If you have good grades and a CFA L1, there are people who will take you. Maybe look into smaller, more flexible firms?
>>
>>1465711

I'm still IN school, that's why i'm applying for internships.
>>
>>1465721
This is good advice. Start working at smaller firms (maybe your uncle is a managing director at a firm?), and then gradually work your way up to larger firms.

Also keep working hard in uni no matter what.
>>
>>1465726

oops sorry, i should read next time

maybe you should get a 23and me genetic test done and pray you have some minority in your bloodline to put on you application
>>
>>1463563
what area do you live in?
>>
>>1463881
more like swallowing the warm, creamy information contained in hairy sacks
>>
>>1463563
Don't give up, lad. Dunno how it is in finance, but initial failure in hiring processes may be misleading.

Earlier this year I was getting rejected so hard that it made me wonder if I was a actually retarded. Even second and third string companies weren't giving me a chance.
>still have nightmares about those fucking hirevue video interviews

I finally got an analyst position in a top 3 consulting firm a couple months ago after much suffering.

What worked for me was to stop machine gunning my resume towards anything that moved, and start writing my resume to fit each job opening, in addition to including a dick slurping cover letter showing how excited you were about working for them. Be really specific.
When you get the interview, thoroughly research the company and interviewing practices (glassdoor or something) to know what to expect and how to better prepare for it.

If you make an effort to show that that's not one of the 20 identical applications you've done, it goes a long way, imo.

Someone plz give me some pointers on how to write good answers to "why do you think our program is right for you?"

Turns out one of the big 4's is still open for a couple of (lesser, non-CF) streams. Might as well give it one final shot.

Calm your selves. I am working part time during college.

I just took the job because it was close to my house and paid better than any other mcjob in my area. Its also related to my degree(econ) kind of and will provide that 1 year of work experience that I need for post graduation jobs. Plus they pay for me to take any finance related certification I want.
