You're lacking perspective. Playing an instrument doesn't make you happy, but maybe to you being good helps you. All things in life are actually chores unless you enjoy them personally and acknowledge them. Learn to be proud of things and enjoy them. Sometimes all it takes is just stopping and appreciating the present moment regardless of how cheesy it sounds...it's true.
