What is a good gift for someone who attempted suicide and failed?
Should I even get them a gift or will I look like a dick?
A stronger rope
Why did this person attempt suicide?

I was thinking a gun and some bullets but this is also acceptable

Spending some damn time with them. Its the BEST thing you could give them
+1 for a gun

On the off chance that you're being serious, why don't you just give them a hug and let them know that you care about them. That means far more than giving them some random gift.
not even gonna lie i know this feel..
>someone in my family commits suicide
>first thought is to give them money
idk why

Besides pleasantries and regular sorrowful things you would do in this situation, I would ask them the following.
Make sure you speak in a way that comes off like you care. Be very cordial. And say "(do) you need anything?" The do is in parenthesis because it's optional depending on the local slang.
I ask all my close friends and acquaintances when we hangout after we get past the hellos and shit. They usually get where I'm coming from and say "no anon thanks"
I'd get them flowers if they are still in the hospital. Maybe a stuffed animal. If they need any financial help or further emotional support they should point it out when you ask them if they need anything. If you don't believe them then tread lightly, since I'm not sure what you would do.
I used to ask this to my broke friend a long time ago. Shit he could've asked me to give him a ride to work some days since he didn't have a car, or for a few hundred to help with his shitty rent situation. But he didn't. We just kept being friends like normal until we lost contact due to us moving on with our lives.
