They're everywhere in LA, too.
It gets proposed every year in my neighborhood, but (so far) always gets shot down.
You wind up having to pay for literally everything: Roads, trees, sidewalks, signs, security, sanitation, etc.
So it's expensive as fuck, and the city hates when people change their minds about it, so they make it really difficult.
