Use Google to find best rate.
Instant access accounts pay less than 30/60/90 day accounts.
Save into an ISA account always.

Thanks boss
Plently of good current accounts available at high interest rates.
Depends on how much you have. Can get 5% on up to about 5 grand easy enough with a couple of accounts at nationwide/tsb, with only monthly pay in requirements. ( can transfer between banks for that)
Beyond that it gets more annoying with direct debits and fees. I think first direct does 4% on up to 5 grand but needs 2 direct debits.
Santander does 3% (At the moment) on 20k, but has a 5 pound fee per month. Needs two direct debits. Might drop to 2% in near future though.
If you live in Northern Ireland some of the accounts might not be available e.g Tesco Online. (That has 3% and no monthly pay in)
this should help:

Also a little unrelated, but a help to buy might be an okay move even if you don't really intend to buy a house but want to leave options open.
Can get 2.5% on that, but the 25% bonus requires time to build up, so might be worth thinking about.
Interest up to £1000 has no tax if you are a basic rate tax payer so ISAs aren't as good. Also the rates on them are poor <2%.

Why use banks instead of more productive instruments?
>>1433961
instruments?
I just posted this on another thread I got the Santander 123 account with £20k in it (the max amount for interest) costs me £5 a month but I get about £50 interest a month ,if you got bills you can earn cash back on those too

Is it possible to get accounts with bigger amounts of savings where you can gain interest?

You should set up a business in the US on an E2 visa. You have the money for it
