I understand not everyone can be all-stars but isn't wealth distribution a bit too skewed right now?
>>

I'll stick to my free markets, thx
>>

yeah what's happening now is similar to what happened during the industrial revolution, one of the greatest increases in productivity in human history yet nearly all the increased revenue is being pocketed by a small few while everyone else loses out, though they do get new technologies.

Yes.

You knew Ted Talks had become a complete joke when Kim Kardashian and "Here in my garage" got the stage to speak.

Ted talks are different from tedx

Except that the investing markets (bond and equity) are much more democratic than they were during the Industrial Revolution. Used to be, only the wealthy and connected could buy stocks or bonds. Now, every kid with a cell phone can buy an index fund from the subway. And the rise of 401ks, IRAs, and Roths is pushing more people into the markets.

In short, the common man is sharing more of the gains than in olden times because more of the common men own securities. Approximately 50% of all Americans own public investments of some sort. Yes, that leaves out a lot of people, but it includes a lot too.

Food for thought: if you were a "common Joe" with your live savings in a 401k retirement fund in indexes from 2009-2015 your net worth nearly tripled. All your had to do was buy and hold.

there isn't enough to go around. the wealth at the top is assets that can't be liquidated and redistributed.

If people at the bottom of the ladder believe wealth distribution is unfairly skewed towards the top, why the hell arent they getting better jobs?

I have over 200 different jobs near me, and I live in a medium sized town.
>>
>>1432761
No, the industrial revolution had child labor, terrible working conditions, no safety procedures for building fires, lower pay, worse living conditions, less favorable medicine, less media coverage of problems, and more abuses of workers.

Now we have workers rights, workers unions, a livable minimum wage, paternity leave, sick leave, vacation time, taxes on the rich, health care, safety procedures and regulations on them, law and order, police protection and more cures for diseases and ills. Oh, and we got 4chan.

What does this even mean? We have 330,000,000 people in America alone, and the average salary is $50,000 for women and $90,000 for men.

Do you want people to have higher salaries or do you hate inflation? If there isnt enough to go around where you live, move to somewhere there is enough money.

I watched this video yesterday, downvoted and even left a comment in it that i'll copy and paste here.

What a load of horse crap, this guy twisted statitics so they could fit into his pre-fabricated views. Scandinavian countries didn't become what they are today under socialist policies, the people prospered and the countries became rich because they were thinly populated, abundant in resources and had little government intervention, the welfare state was a consequence, not a cause of the scandinavian success.
The moment he said "free" education and pointed out Bernie Sanders i knew this was political garbage disguised as economics.

I think it's efficient and quite just.
>>

Why don't you suggest a viable alternative then
>>
>>1432713
No, it's fine and better than it ever has been and it gets better every year. stop moaning. Jesus Christ, you poorfags want a solution right now at the expense of everything else, it's why you buy your cars on credit and buy a house you can't really afford mortgage payments for.

Fun fact no model system works when the human brain and psyche are nerf'd through chemical physiological and psychological intersection and regulation from autonomous bodies such as government, ruling class, and arms bearers. Communism would work fine if everyone functioned at stainable levels, as would democracy if government functioned near properly, people want more than you. So they can be better than you... Welcome to humanity. best bet, do your own shit based off of an energy grid. not human slave trade... img somewhat related...
>>
>>1434781
The people working against it isn't the only issue with communism. The extremely inefficient allocation of resources due to the governing bodies not being able to track and decide the market as quickly or effectively as pricing systems do is probably the biggest problem that previous communist countries have faced.

Not skewed enough I only made $200k last year but I can't afford another car wtf
