Bitcoin is down because a lot of Bitcoiners are supporting ETC.
They are buying ETC with their BTC.
BTC and ETC are going to be worth a lot more money in couple of weeks because ETH will die.
Dying ? It's just getting started m8

It's down because of the bitfinex hack, these kind of events are all just bumps in the road ,and it's better that issues like this are ironed out now rather than later ,if Bitcoin was worth $10k that hack would have been worth something like $700 million ,security needs to be a top priority with Bitcoin right now ,if we can fix that and solve the scaling problems then there's not going to be anything holding Bitcoin back.
In the meantime we can look forward to the new Megaupload 2.0 launch in January 2017 built on Bitcoin micropayments ,that alone is guaranteed to give Bitcoin a massive boost.
Tl;dr buy and hold
