In Sweden, they take garbage and turn it into renewable energy:

Take San Fran for example (they recycle a huge portion of refuse):
-2$ a month for a recycling bin on the curb
-26$ for general trash
You cannot do this kind of thing without government support, and the American public at large will not support this kind of bullshit because it's hugely inconvenient and everyone knows it.

Seriously, that $26 or whatever is god damn trivial. In the midwest, you'll pay just as much but they'll add it to property taxes or your water bill. Nobody gives a fuck about it.
