I am employed as an SEO Manager for a very large media company in the US. This is a total meme industry. However, the CEO's and higher ups have bought into the meme.

I do not do much. The best thing you can do is learn the jargon to confuse the higher ups.

Start with Moz or basic SEO youtube videos.

Because he's targeting low volume search terms most likely. If no one is searching for his keywords then it doesn't matter how good his SEO is.
