I'm a brit who has around £1500 per month to invest. I currently have about 10 individual stocks in a few good FTSE 100 companies and since January I'm 8% up, current value £8,730. Pic related
Since I don't want to continue being raped by commisions, I have opened up an ISA share account with the intention of investing in index ETFs. Since my goal is to live off dividends, I have invested in iShares UK Dividend ETF since 6% yield is pretty delicious, however I believe I may get better long term dosh off better growth funds. My question is, what index funds do I invest in?
>Should I invest in the US S&P 500?
>Do I just find the highest, average long term growth?
>How many index ETFs should I own?

>RDSA
>not RDSB
WHY!?!?!??
DO YOU NOT CARE ABOUT TAX BENEFITS?

>>Should I invest in the US S&P 500?
Ideally yes, but i think it costs too much to invest in the us due to account fees etc. You need to have big money for it to be worthwhile. Just stick to a ftse100 tracker desu
RIT Capital. Managed by Rothschild pretty tasty returns. Put it in on a DRIP (Dividends Reinvestment Plan) and watch the money stack up before you start squeezing your money for dividends.
Another option is the Ruffer Total Return Fund. Both excellent funds with strong diversification and good managers for a very reasonable price. Both listed ETF's get involved.
