Okay guys this is not political i just dont have an image that matches. I have an idea for a service that me and a business partner want to make into a website/App. Am i able to patent my idea so that i dont get undercut once we start how do i protect my idea?
your idea is worth shit. kill yourself. idea-people are scum and should be executed.
we are getting the domain and we already have the business model and the pricing. its more then an idea its already forming but im asking can i protect it?

keep documents like emails referring/proving it to be your idea and your partner acknowledging that. that will be enough for the immediate future.
get started on serious stuff asap. http://www.inc.com/kelly-fitzsimmons/ten-ways-to-protect-your-intellectual-property.html

Get a good lawyer, explain your IP, ask if you can protect it and. If it is worth protecting. Patents take a long time fyi. Sometimes it's better to just enter the market quickly and be the defacto standard. Only problem with that is you'll have a hard time getting investors to sign because your company will own no IP. ;) All the best.
