"If you make 3 or more day trades within 5 rounds trip business days you are labeled a PDT"
What is considered a daytrade? If I buy a stock at 3:00 today and sell at 9:00 tomorrow morning is that considered a day trade since it's less than 24 hours or not because I held AH?

Yes. You traded within 5 business days.

No but is that saying "if you execute 3 daytrades within a span of 5 days you're a PDT" or is that saying "a daytrade is considered every 5 days so you can only make 3 of them"
So basically wouldnt that be saying a day trade is every 5 business days? i think its just saying dont day trade within 5 business days but idk what is considered a daytrade. fuck its confusing

Ooh, I misread that, I'm an idiot.
A daytrade, according to them (I guess), is most likely a trade you open and close on the same day.
So if you make 3 of these daytrades within 5 business days that makes you PDT. If you close a trade the next business day it shouldn't be a daytrade.

I know a guy who tried to beat the requirement by having two accounts.
One was margin, but he kept getting flagged for this shit, so he'd use the 30-day freeze period to trade in his other, standard account.
