Have you ever considered writing young adult/teen fiction? I think that shit sells really well.

I'm sure a lot of people have tried without much success.

Anyways I'm pretty sure the genre died with the Hunger Games

>Anyways I'm pretty sure the genre died with the Hunger Games
Why's that?

He means the mainstream marketability. Bookfags and normies tired of two parter movies that are 80% filler.
>>
>>1402671
Ah, I see. What is the next incarnation of the genre?
>>
>>1402674
There is no next incarnation.

What will take it's place?

/lit/ here.
nobody knows the future.

you could try however to make good stories.
good stories that sell are about relatable characters.

I'm planning on writing novels about diferent mythos around the world, there's so much material in history I don't need to copy paste some tired cliches from fantasy.

try to look up your local newspaper for interesting stories, maybe some average murder will give you an idea for some good stories.

remember that good stories are based around real life and real life has millions of good unused unique stories.

Good stories aren't always the most marketable, otherwise shit like 50 Shades of Grey and Twilight wouldn't sell.

you need to study those examples and ask why are they popular.

in such cases, is basically porn for women.
there's a reason why erotica exists.

Which begs the question of why you aren't ypusing your writing skill to pander to bored housewives. After the money rolls in then write your dream book.

That's what I would do if I could write a half-compelling story.

Medieval fantasy and historical fiction I guarantee it, follow the generations that spend money.

my goal is to become a writter, if you ask why I'm not writing to women, then I said, I would like to write some fantasy shit for little girls, something like mlp.

if you ask about those examples, the answer is marketing, the publishers invested in those books because they knew it will sell.
