Do lots of reading on places like Zacks, Seeking Alpha, Yahoo Finance, I think Google Finance, Barcharts, etc..

I'm no expert, but I like GM atm. It's undervalued but they just posted some great earnings for the last 2 quarters.

Paypal just took a dip on news of a new deal with Visa that some fear will benefit Visa more than Paypal, but Paypal is a big company that's not going anywhere so I expect it to rebound.

AMD has seen some good gains this year and while it's not in the black yet, they are moving towards positive earnings in Q3 and beyond with the momentum to continue growth into Q2 next year at least.

Netflix has also just dipped in price on news of stalled subscriber growth even though they beat earnings expectations. I firmly believe Netflix will rebound and go above 100 again by year's end.

These aren't garbage stocks by any means, but I'm no investment pro. Infact I just got into buying stocks like 2 months ago. I have other junkier/ riskier stocks like Gilead(Potential to sell a drug for the purpose of HV resistance soon), Navios Maritime acquisition corp(Marine transportation - think crude oil tankers), Aoxing pharmaceutical(Just begain producing some new drug). There are more risky and I have less money into them.
