Depends on a lot of things.
General market direction, presence of dividends, industry relevance, etc.

Depends on the situation.

"The stock still has the potential of going up in X months, because of X factor, BUT I could make more money if I invest in X right now."

Do what you think is right. If you no longer feel something applys, change your position. If there is still reason to be in X stock, stay.
