I have zero idea how to promote music any meaningful way and honestly you shouldn't care too much about that. What genre is your music? You could try and throw your name around some circles centered around the genre, see if anyone likes it.
The "easy way" is having your music involved in some other context like a video or a trailer, people usually flock to the artist in those cases. A shit ton of exposure but it's not the same kind of hype as being discovered and circulated by hardcore genre fans.
