When I was poor and 18 I took my then GF to the shops and grabbed the biggest bottle of her fav perfume and she got so fucking excited

This is one of my greatest fears but I dont know why.

Like I feel great when I have:

>debit card
>more cash than the purchase

So I know for 100% that I will be able to buy it even if my cards fail.

Now I just remembered being very embarrassed when I was in middle school being unable to make a purchase. I guess thats why.

Honestly though I'm pretty young so people in my family assume I'm broke
But last year my uncle had his card declined and I could see the hurt in his face
I told him "hey you're halfway across the country call the credit card company cuz they probably declined it as a fraudulent charge"
he did; and he was able to pay
but he never recovered from that first rejection lol
