hey /biz/ im an 18 year old from NYC about to go to baruch college
what salary can i realistically expect if i pursue a finance degree assuming i get a 3.5+ gpa
also, would an internship at the New York Stock Exchange do me good?

not US fag, i assumed they would hire people from NYU to do stuff on wall street. Finance is a meme unless you go to top school, 3.8+ gpa or you double it with a quantitative degree like math stats physics engineering actuarial etc

Unless you do a trade you can't expect a certain wage, some people do English Language and end up earning 200k, and some people do engineering and earn 30k, it's down to you and luck
you'll probably be making anywhere around 50k coming out of college assuming you get a 3.5 and have a internship somewhere.
unless you're in nyu or columbia, no new york city school will set you up for your ideal (one with lots of money) career in finance unless you network (or have connections) like crazy, outwork those in the aforementioned schools, have a near 4.0 GPA with a finance/math or finance/computer engineering dual major, AND a solid internship set of internships.
