So I hear a lot of people saying marriage is beneficial because of tax reasons, but it looks like you pay more? Can someone explain this?
pay alimony and child support if it goes sour, get cucked by tyrone while you go out and earn money. 50% assets split. Not worth the hassle

It really depends, but the vast majority of people pay less by filing jointly. I think it can screw you somewhat if both partners make substantial money, though.
Where did you get this chart?
Not even sure what its trying to explain.
How marriage "lowers" your tax:
>you have income X with a tax on it Y
>2 people would ideally have income 2X but the tax is 2Y, no benefit there
>however, you are a desperate idiot, so you married a obese cow, a total piece of shit with income Z = $0
>you now have an income 2XZ or (2*0)X = 0
>since she took all your income, you are now in a lower tax bracket, congrats!

Marriage is a scam. Don't try and overthink it.
