The issue with VHC and stops is that you've got two groups of traders.

First group are people literally sitting in that courtroom, every day, waiting for the announcement.

Second group are people hammering F5 on the court's website waiting for the verdict to show up.

Third group are /biz/nizzmen watching the chart in real time -- by the time we see the spike in price that reflects the actions of those in the first two groups, it's probably already too late.

Fourth group are the people with day jobs. By the time their broker tells them the stock has moved 25% in either direction, the stock is halted for the press release that announces victory or defeat.

I ain't saying it's impossible to have an informed opinion about the case and the treble damages issue. I'm just saying that even if one is right - either way - it's hard to profit from it.

THE Monday memes came from the way the court operates. iirc, this court issues orders? on mondays.

if i understand the situation, apple has requested leave to prepare and present a brief to the court regarding the recent development regarding the supreme court and the seagate test. it doesn't make much sense to me because i think that VHC can and has proven/passed the seagate test. relaxing the test requirements and giving more discretion to the judge would be in VHC's favor i think... unless the judge has some special deal with apple.

anyway, i think any rulings (i can't find source for this) come on mondays... so it is possible that apple's request for leave (or extension or whatever the stalling tactic is called) is denied and treble? damages awarded on monday. it is also possible that no order/ruling is made... or that apple's delay request is granted and final decision put off until after the 29th.
