I'm looking for a type of investment that yields a monthly income.

My pay is very irregular and unreliable. I have enough money to invest with, and could save quite a bit, but a regular income, even a tiny one, would really ease my mind. So I just want to invest my excess pay the minute I get it. I'll keep doing this until I can retire.

Obvious choice is buying real estate and renting it out, but I'm dealing with sums of less than 50K at a time, and I don't live in the American Midwest. What's a more hands-free alternative for a monthly or quarterly payout?
>>
Why do you care where you live when investing in real estate? Don't fall for the "I have to live close to my rental property" meme.

And 50k is a reasonable downpayment.

I could explain myself, but I'd rather not set foot in that hamster wheel. I am not buying real estate.

If you're going to gamble with Ponzi schemes, at least choose a reputable one.

How much money you got? How much do you need the investment to yield?

GGN pays .07/share per month
Invest 10k into their stock and you'll be making about $110 a month

5% return should do. I'd prefer something conservative, but I guess conservative companies operate on a longer timescale.

...NB I mean 5% annually, doled out in twelfths.

Bonterra Energy pays a monthly dividend and it's yield is almost 5%. Been doing so for 10+ years and will continue to do so unless oil falls below $20 a barrel.
>>
AT&T (NYSE:T) yields 5% and pays dividends in January, April, July, and October.

Shell (NYSE:RDS.B) yields 7% and pays dividends in February, May, August, and November.

Altria (US cigarette giant; owns Marlboro among other major brands) (NYSE:MO) yields 3.5% and pays dividends in March, June, September, and December.

Realty Income (commercial property landlord) (NYSE:O) yields 4% and pays dividends monthly.

Buying a bit of each will ensure you a monthly dividend payment which should be reasonably steady and grow over time.

All of the above have very solid dividend histories and I would be honestly surprised by a dividend cut from any of them.

Hope this helps.
