>all of my peers have like seven or eight years of experience by now
>a-at least I have my degree

How do I make it look like I'm not a loser?
>>
Get useful skills as fast as possible, especially if you skipped these while you were busy working on that degree.
>>
>How do I make it look like I'm not a loser?

But not caring about meaningless shit like this.
>>
>>1286685
What exactly do you mean by useful skills? You mean like service-skills? Or do you mean things like webdesign and java-code?
>>
>>1286690
Whatever you need to succeed in your job. What are you doing? How big is the company? Do you have your own project you're assigned to?
>>
>>1286693
I work in government, low level accounting position. Studied accounting by the way.
>>
>>1286696
>accounting
Never knew why people are intrested in something like this.
Nevermind, just look out for the most important guy in your department. Stick to them and learn from them. Help them get more productive so they'll be ok with showing you how its done.
Don't fear to ask for help but never ask the same questions two times.
Be good at what you're doing, if somebody has to clean up behind you, you're fucked.
And most important, don't be a fucking /r9k/obott.

>Literally all of the people on any company's executive committee are either CPA/CA's.
>I wonder why people are interested in something like this..

Wow bruh.

OP I'm 25 this year working low level accounting job registering & scrapping some oil company's fixed assets, studying accounting.

Just get really good at excel (Learn VBA) and do a post-grad degree, jump to something else, a grad programme or something....

Its not like your peers are multi - millionaires or something. We are all tryna make it.
>>

>23
>7-8 years of experience

Did they start at 15?
Anyway no one gives a shit, you'd be surprised how much of a complex people that didn't go to college have vs people that did
>>
>7-8 years work experience in blue collar trades, making 60 grand if they're lucky.

There's a few master degree programmes in my country I've been looking at, and I think I could get into them. I could get a masters in accounting or "accounting and finance" or "financial analysis" or "financial communication". I think all these are pretty much the same. Not ivy league, but still breddy gud. Is that what you're talking about?
>>

>Did they start at 15?
I mean, yes. In college they did part time jobs as waiters, mailmen, elderly care etc.
Makes me feel kindof small.
>>
>>1286841
Chin-up lad, you can out-work them
>>
>>1286711
>Just get really good at excel
This.

I am paid very well for being a spreadsheet jockey
>>
>>1286839

Maybe do a Masters In Finance while you study, get into that, or an MBA.

Look for graduate rotational programmes and try again. Maybe try Big 4 Accounting firms, try Consulting, Oil & Gas, Commodity Trading, any other sector till something sticks...

You'll catch up eventually.
>>
>>1286728
Kek, this.

Lower class retards get violently triggered if you so much as breath a word about college.
>>
>>1286764
This.

A lot of the time they're working longer hours too. Don't worry about it OP, just work hard and smart and you'll make it.

I'm currently coming out of school, and while some of my friends already have houses n shit, I think I'll be a winner in the long term.

Currently working on expanding the family business and doing some investing with the money I managed to scrape during school.

Should be a tough couple years, but if everything goes well, I'll be making six-figures easily. Guess, I'll live like a monk until then.
