OP Ive been working in HVAC for 10 years now, it's not labor intensive. 95% of the job is service calls and maintenance. Checking/replacing filters, checking fan belts, attending hot/cold complaints made by fat menopausal women. You'll spend your time drinking coffee and writing service reports.

Sometimes you'll have to change a pump, fan motor or compressor. These are few and far between in terms of actual hours worked. The most labor intensive part of it is is carrying vac-pumps and gas bottles. You won't "fuck your joints" in HVAC.
