us citizens median wealth are much lower than uk's for example. they have 500 year old families in europe while US is a very young culture and not much wealth accumalition. how is it culturally similar though? germany i know for a fact doesn't value employees or employment as much.

and i've never been to the UK but it doesn't seem like they are competitive with each other at all outside of football. there's less opportunity to change anything because i get the sense that they think everything already works the way it needs to. taxes are a thing though, and the fact that the US invites strong students over helps us.

i dont think you understand how national statistics and economies work...tax rates do effect GDP but not in the way you suggest. The GDP per capita and GDP are both higher than most of Europe and certainly that of Germany or France because we are producing more wealth/exploiting more natural wealth than those countries and on a per capita basis. This is how this statistic works...
