You know you can't take it with you right? It's important to set up a system that ensures that the money keeps rolling in, but at some point you're just hoarding for the sake of hoarding like some sort of fairytale dragon.
So what are you going to spend it on?

thinking only of the self, in your own time. do the math on progeny. Your two kids, have two kids, have two kids.....
We do this for the future of man

Pfft, I'm only leaving the grandkids a trust fund, but my kids only get college paid for and the benefit of some connections I've made.
Why? I can avoid fucking up my kids if all I get them is an upper-class education and connections, because the education part is what I figured out on my own having middle class parents. My kids will have to figure out what to do with having connections etc from an early age. Their kids are the ones who are going to wind up with trust funds, and it's up to my kids to figure out how to parent that without fucking them up.
I'll not be responsible for a Paris Hilton.

>So what are you going to spend it on?
Depends how much I get.
So far I'm saving enough to not have to worry about money again and live off the gains of my ETF portfolio, which is quite a goal I've set that I don't really plan to achieving really.

>future kids' trust fund
>house / real estate
>angel investing
>charity / community involvement
>invest in extended family maybe
Other than that I might buy a couple old cars to restore, and maybe something nice for myself whenever I decide to replace my Mercedes.
Or maybe to create the illusion of modest income to my kids I'll track down an '83 Corolla with low mileage and roll around in that.

Lots and lots of heroin
>work 24/7 to ensure your kids will have a better and 'easier' life than you
>leave them with relatively good money
>congratulations, you had a failure of a son its gonna take two generations to get back to the point you where
One of the biggest lesson I have from my family and many friends is that you must make your kids struggle to get what they want otherwise they gonna burn all the money you built.

I have extended family like this- great uncle/aunt bought their kids condos. They're both NEET, one has multiple DUIs, etc.
My parents fucked-up financially and I saw the trainwreck very early-on and knew I had to support myself quickly, which I do now.
The funny thing is, in my great uncle's earlier marriage, he had two daughters who turned out being responsible. One MD, and one married a dentist.
