Just took this shitty ass test today for the first time after studying my ass off for two months. I did not do well at all.

How the fuck am I supposed to get into a good graduate school when I can't even master this fucking test?
Advice on what books and resources to buy? I plan on taking it in another 4 months.
Take the GMAT instead.

I'm going for an economics or finance masters I haven't really decided. Is the GMAT better? For what reason?

It's related to business issues, and you should do it since it sounds like the GRE isn't your forte

More Maths, and the verbal is easier. GRE's vocabulary part is hard.
Some of those questions are:
>OP is a _______________.
>1. jslkjdsajkldjasj
>2. saisakdl
>3. oskdsldlks
>4. skawwweew
>5. kppppooweop
Like, what the fuck are those words? English is a second language to me, so take that with a pinch of salt.

You're not. That's why they have this test to weed out the retards that are not able to handle a graduate program
>3rd year PhD in biomedical sciences, UCSD
Just keep practicing. I took it once scored above 80% and landed into one of the best programs in my field.
It's really not hard

I learned literally 300 new words going into that exam and only saw 4 of them.

I'm just naturally retarded. I have a 3.94 GPA do you guys think that will help at all? Or is GRE really that important?
>>1179505
it's good enough for state schools, i actually had a 2.75 undergrad gpa disaster. But I'm getting my MSF with a 3.8 so far

GRE is not that important. It's a filter you have to score over a certain amount.
Having a good GPA is good too. But it matters if your school has a reputation for grade inflation.
It also matters what field you're going into. I can only speak for biological sciences

I'm going for an MFA and hoping to get into academia, currently running a freelancing business. Getting that one super high score got me full funding with an additional scholarship.
Practice test after practice test helps. New versions are doing this thing in the verbal reasoning that is more about formal logic, though, so make sure that's included.
Frankly, though you just might not be studying hard enough. The test measures your ability to learn to take the test -- a skill which is actually surprisingly applicable to most graduate programs. Work harder; hire a tutor.
Shameless bump for more GRE/Testing information and resources.
