In finance you risk money, or companies, or imaginary stuff basically.

As a doctor, you risk literally killing someone.

In finance, you can do your job half assedly and still get paid.

As a doctor, you are expected to be perfect at all times.

I can count all the med school guys I've met who care about others one both hands. Many of them are in it for the money, prestige, and because they're interested in the subject, not the people they're treating; I'd say that's barely a step above finance guys who are only in it for the money.

I do agree that a finance major is unnecessary though. Work experience in the finance industry with a quantitative (anything from economics to mathematics) undergrad major will teach you enough, if you're clever, to be a better financier than someone with just a degree in finance.

Graduation high school first, and you'll realize life isn't about making the most money. There's more factors to it. People like you probably think because a state has no state income tax, that it's cheaper to live in.
