Depends where you live. In big cities, 240k often won't be enough to buy 2 properties. But if you go to small towns, you might be able to buy a house or apartment + another one you can rent out for x amount of dollars. I have no idea how much renting can bring in where you're from.

Besides that, if you do decide to rent out a property while living in your own, make sure you screen tenants, get a damage deposit and check their credit. A lot of landlords end up with difficult tenants who can be dirty, messy, and just overall cause problems.

Use the 10k towards a valuable degree and do co-ops and make connections while in 3rd/4th year of school so he can get a job right after graduating. Graduating without or very little debt and landing a solid job which pays 60k+ starting is excellent and a much better option than putting it into some unknown stock or some shitty start up company which will not go anywhere.

Look at it like this. If the OP can do what I mentioned above and get a stable income coming in, he has the flexibility and cushion to be more risky with his earnings. Because if he has a job, and invests 10k in something risky, and it goes bye bye at least he won't be homeless and has a career and roof over his head.

I have since taken out my original investment which is now safely back into my bank account and still have about 14K invested in ETH.
