Hello,
I am looking for a program that allows me to engage in stock trades independently. Something that day traders use. If you don't know, that's fine, please move along. If you do know please impart me with your wisdom.
Thank you

Yes except something that isn't a meme and not terrible. There have been day traders for years, I want their set up. It exists, I just have to find it.

How is it a meme?

thinkorswim is ok for charting. IB is decent for a broker. a bloomberg terminal is the industry standard but you can't afford it.

Do you have enough Capitol to open a day trader account?
>>1111701
Unless doing DMA with oCaml or another functional language, you're not doing it right. Get with the times.

These are good. I'm on Tradestation. They have good charts and execution for my 1 and 2 lots. heh

Brutal
We use Bloomberg at our college. Really awesome to get that hands on experience.

open an account with interactive brokers
buy a front end that works for you if necessary... or roll your own - they've got a comprehensive API and you can develop all sorts of tools to assist with trading

lmao @ thinking anyone serious in the industry trades on a bloomberg. they are glorified im clients for everyone on wall street
bloomberg offers some execution (emsx) but its only the shit tier small shops that use it

What is used? There must be a standartd, i don't believe its all per-shop-proprietary
>>1111789
Fuck off, Reuters is cheaper and generally better at lower levels.
>>1114810
Yeah Eikon is cheaper, but it will also rob you of your sanity while working with it.
listen, day trading probably isn't going to work out for you. It be much better if you went to some accountant or firm and let them manage your account. From the sounds of it you have no idea what you're getting into and it's better you use a simulator like investopedia and read up to get a handle on how you should even trade\what the rules of the market are.
Ok dumb questions maybe...
Is there anything wrong with thinkorswim and stockcharts.com?
Am I pleb if I don't try out Reuters and Bloomberg??

Go place some puts on stocks using robinhood and let me know how it works out.
>>1116080
Not really...
Ycharts is pretty good too.
>>1111789
Can I pirate this software?
>>1111904
This. OP this board is slow. I've spent a week in an argument on here because slow ass replys. Chill out.
>>1116080
No, both are great. TDA is a bitch if you have no credit like me because you have to fax them proof of identity but they'll jump through hoops for you if you have a large ammount of money you plan to deposit. Still weird they banned my practice account just because they couldn't find my credit record.
OP is from /b/
