Bloomberg wrote about you guys, how does it feel to be famous?
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-19/millennials-are-using-one-of-the-riskiest-etfs-to-speculate-on-oil

Hes just too much of a pussy to take the risk like the rest of us men.

The stock market eats its young. Same in the oil and gas business.
>>
>why aren't you kids buying the stocks that i'm invested in?
>>
>>1102979
Good this is soooo good.

When the stock market crashes, all these millennial faggots will completely avoid investing.

Thats the PERFECT time to value invest.

This is exactly how warren buffet made billions in a time when the stock market was considered "risky" by all the plebs
>>
Why does he assume I'm a millennial? Does anyone else cringe every time they hear that term.
>>
Is the first sentence about iHaz?
>>
>>1103025
I don't even know if I'm one or not. I was born in 1990 so I guess I am.
>>
>>1103029
millennial is 1985 to 2005
>>
>>1103104
I thought it was '80 to '01.
>>
>>1103131
Nope 1980 is too early. Millenials are people that came of age, or were born in the early 2000's

My question is what the generation after millennials are to be called, like my little sister. Completely drowned in technology and sees the world in a distinctly different way than I do.
>>
>>1102979
heh i read bloomberg every day.
When i first saw this i was like "there must be an oil etf thread on /biz/, only they're dumb enough to get into this shit"
>>
>>1103143
>Millenials are people that came of age, or were born in the early 2000's
kek
>>
>>1103143
I don't think they will change millennial until millennials start having kids and raising their kids a certain way leading those kids to behave in a way different from millennials did.

As far as I can tell. Being 15 years old in 2015 isn't very different from being 15 years old in 2005.
They both have obsessions with mobile phones, video games and internet. Just those things have improved since then.

>all it talks about is risk
>mentions that they're not buying and holding these things there is just as much millennial selling of these things as there is buying
All this says is that millennials are clutch as fuck and have more balls than the other generations and are probably making bank doing this.

Article even mentions that everything else millennials are buying are good solid popular investments and that the money they are using to buy and sell this stuff is probably play money.

Just wait for the bloomberg article about "how this one millennial made $40 million speculating on oil ETFs" in like a years time.
>>
>>1103163

Yeah, those 2000 dollar brick cellphones are basically the same shit as modern cellphones.
And playing Mario for a few hours on the NES before dropping it is the same as millions of people losing years of their lives to WoW.
>>
>>1103169
2005 is when WoW came out.
>implying a more pixels and better graphics means anything in the grand cultural scheme of things.
It's the cultural obsession with the medium of entertainment then the quality of it that is the more powerful thing here.
>>
>>1102979
There's noting wrong with UWTI and DWTI

come on bloomberg shills
>>
>>1103268
also

BRB BUYING UWTI
>>
Millennials trading this risky ETF are most likely trust fund kids who don't care about money. Most millennials are broke and don't have over 1,000 dollars in their networth.
>>
>>1103286
A lot of truth to that. It's evident by budget threads getting trolled off this board because non of them even have budgets. Let alone savings.
>>
>>1103286
>implying people won't get rich off of UWTI
>>
>>1103291
Its normal to be broke in your 20s. Your 30s is where you should have savings and some investments. But let be honest but boomers never invested nor saved for their retirement. This is the same path Millennials are going to follow.
>>
>>1103298
Just because it's normal doesn't mean it has to be that way or that everyone is. I still partied and lived it up with friends in my early 20's but I certainly wasn't broke. A lot of my friends were though.
>>
>buy UWTI @1.89
>drops to 1.55
>I've been holding for 2 weeks now

I'm fucked aren't I
>>
>>1103308
I agree, I did the same but I wasn't broke nor rolling in cash. Now in my 30s I have a nice nestegg because starting to invest anytime before 30 explode your investments and IRAs. Too many people live beyond their means and this isn't a generational thing. This is systemic. Old and young.

i make about $600/wk on daytrading a couple of things. this might pop into something major or never go anywhere. who cares?

Can you elaborate? You just mean how all the layoffs were probably young people or what?

Long Oil when the dollar bottoms, not beforehand.

Fuck when did i miss the UWTI thread?

Can you buy it on robinhood or something?
>>
Honestly you could make a ton of cash doing this. Oil is going to trade in a 20$ to 40$ window for a good while. I wouldn't even worry about the production side of the equation, there is no way the whole world get together and agree to produce less oil. Just watch China if China shows real strength our 2 mmbpd surplus could be gone in a year. Then you'll have fear of a shortage and stratospheric prices again. If China doesn't rebound it's going to stay in that 20-40 window. Buy around 20 and sell around 40. You could even buy/sell on the 30$ mark. Easy money.

Why the fuck is UWTI so attractive to you faggots?

Its not the only oil based stock available for gods sake.

I made a 20% return on my oil investment while you guys keep longing leveraged oil like neets.

Might as well take an equity loan and blow everything you have on oil if that's the type of investment philosophy you guys have.

A generation is roughly 20 years. Generation X (Most of 4chan's parents) was the early 60s to the early 80s. Millennials or Generation Y, as the used to be called, are the early 80's to the early 00s. The next generation doesn't really have an agreed upon name, they are often called generation z. They'll probably get a fancy name in another few years when they reach adulthood.
>>
>>1103653
what was your oil investment?
>>

>millenials
>knowing what the stock market is

When will this meme fucking die?
>>
"millenials" as if an entire generation of people thinks in exactly the same way. Most of the people I know are pretty standard - save some money, spend some money, think long term about a house deposit.

is this an american thing?
>>
>>1103810
It's a jew meme, mass culture and so on.
>>
>>1103810

It's a meme posted to shame people for being as entitled as the baby boomers before them, when there is no economic boom for us to enjoy like our parents had.
>>
>>1102979

>Believing in Bloomberg
>>
>>1102979
>millenials
>baby boomers
>generation z
>generation y
Fuck this fucking stupid generalization shit
