I have software development skills, I want to get into business - solve a problem, sell a product.

My biggest issue is coming up with that problem to solve - what people need. Has anyone else been in the same boat?

I'm a UI/UX designer. I have ideas but no development skills. What kind of software do you want to make?
>>
5 years with windows development (WPF/C#).

Currently working in a web environment - AngularJS/Bootstrap/js front end, WebAPI (C#) backend.

Pretty 'well rounded' and considered a utility player at one former job, by no means a genius but I get work done.
>>
Get out more. There's many problems out there to solve. Find one that you think is interesting and offer a solution. Sell that shit! I do web development and demand is high.

I do need to get out more, that is a fact.

Without fishing for sympathy, I work from home due to Tourette's Syndrome. but you're right - getting out more would help.

Also it might helps to look at software which is necessary for some people but has not improved the last 5 to 10 years. Then create something similar but in a more intuitive way to solve the problem. Just as an example where problem-solving software could be needed: Ergonomics

Good luck anon
>>
>>1089502 I have a friend of mine who lives with Tourette's and is a indie movie director. Regardless, if someone is willing to offer me a cheaper and comparable (quality wise) solution for a problem my company has I would go with the small guy. It cuts down on costs. I'm a small time web dev (for now) and business is good. Sure no big money just yet. But I figure I keep growing my portfolio before expanding for bigger contracts. Maybe hire some people eventually.

Absolutely. Slow and steady.
