For you.... No.
You never "see" money. You shift shit around so the client pays less tax. Your money is a bunch of numbers on a page and you stick it together to make it look right.

If you want a good stable profession then yes accounting is a good way to go. You can even specialise if you want and go into Treasury etc if you want to differentiate yourself

Accounting is a great undergrad if the goal is stability in a reasonably well paid field. Great for mobility also, any city employs many many accountants as they are a universal business function regardless of industry.
Same as you op. I struggled in engineering then switched to accounting and got straight a's. I know make $80k to f5 4chan all day.

For me yeah. I would like to take over my dad's private practice. He's a CPA and makes decent money. I would say this is one of the solid ways to make money as an accountant, but you won't become a millionaire or anything.
