Why don't we create great works anymore?
it costs too much
artists are too busy paying bills and pimping themselves on instagram to spend 2 years sculpting something
Not liking modern art and architecture means you're racist.

Because we don't live in a Christian society anymore. Let the Fedoras seethe and rage, its the damn truth.
I suspect post modernism is a deliberately bad artistic movement to sort if give artists a rest, it's kind of obvious when they accept any convention/technique that doesn't take more than a week to learn. For instance, in music, they love using noisy, untuned, atonal pads but the second someone mentions counterpoint they get wild with hatred and anger and discontent.

Not really, artists get crowd funded patronage these days.
the greatest work by man is underway the successor to the cancerous species that is mankind
Because religion is not as important anymore. When this was created, religion was the most important part of society. The artists were supported by rich families (medicis) or by the government (church) to create such work. And they paid well to create icons of their religion. Art was valued very highly back then, now feminists are shoving crosses up their vaginas against christianity. Take your pick.
I remember when this was vandalized.

>Although art historians wept over the damage, and the media decried Toth as a cultural terrorist, radicals hailed his "gentle hammer" with cries of "No more masterpieces!"

The Vienna school of fantastic realism is the last bastion of great art in modern times

My favorite sculptor is Richard Macdonald

Fuck me this looks like a hindu or cambodian temple. Absolutely unrefined excess.

Those art pieces depict the virtues, the natural and inheritable laws and the maxim of restraint. Look around OP, annons, do any of see that here, Liberal or Conservative both of those polarities are just a fucking cancer
>the virtuous are invisible in this society
>society degenerates those who practice it and natural law
>the wicked rule the earth
It is truly depressing

Because beauty is a definite value to aspire to. With the influence of post-modernism, truth and therefore beauty are made relative and subjective. So instead of a standard to aspire to, art is desacralised to where anything is art "if i say so"
Robert Scruton explains this brilliantly here. It's a little long but it's worth it.

look like a warhammer architect made this, and not a renaissance man focused on nature.
something a little bit more modern but still in line with european heritage of beauty.

That is absolutely beautiful. It is a shame the Jews promote the modern art bullshit.

As much as I hate commies, they sure made some statues
Sabin Howard is another great modern sculptor but his pieces are less emotive but technically very good and stately. Good enough for an empire i think.

Because Idealism has been dead since the industrial revolution. The arts will come back when we get the kikes and traitors off our backs and begin to practice what we dream.
>why aren't you studying STEM?
>why is there no great modern art?
Make up your minds.

Why would you sculpt when you have CG, retard
>>1308462
Why keep making art in the same style that others have perfected?
It makes sense to try and move on from past art. Imagine if we'd spent the past ~500 years all trying to do our own Pieta's? I would be amazed if someone improved on Michelangelo's and we would have lost centuries of new artistic ideas.
Your complaint is reliant on the premise that art has gotten steadily worse over time but the only reason you appreciate this work is because enough centuries have gone by for people to start revering it.
