There is no stability, it's unregulated. Now some governments are starting to add regulations so that could cause value to drop. It's also now known as the preferred currency of the North Korean regime. That never works out well for anything. There is a cryptographically secure algorithm limiting the amount of bitcoins that can exist at any one time. With "real" money you're putting all of your faith in the banks to not print too much new cash and make your life savings worthless.
