4chan Space Program

Reposted, as this has relevance here.
>>>/pol/141356428
We don't need anything fancy. We don't need awesome sensors and crazy measurement devices.
All we really need Is a modded cellphone with a decent battery life and a means of sending data back. Although a simple balancing mechanism, would make for a better video.

Our goal is simply:
To see if we can
To see if we can get away with it.
Cause as much havoc in the process.
simple

We have many sources on 4chan that we can pool from:
/sci/ - could handle the logistics for us
/k/ - could help us with a fuel source, and rocket design.
/biz/ - can help us pick affordable and easily acquirable chemicals for our fuel
/g/ - could work on the phones firmware
while /pol/, /x/, & /b/ Popularize our plans by repeatedly spamming it on 4chan.

Why the fuck not? There is a good chance they will shut down the threads before we even get to fire the rocket. But by that time we'll have already caused enough havoc to laugh at the headlines.
But who knows, what if we do get away with it?
Why the fuck shouldn't we attempt this clearly insane idea?

Share any thoughts or ideas.
Yes, I am aware this insane lul. However, it is not so insane to say we can't do it.

You might have a realistic chance using a balloon which hoists your device into the stratosphere, which technically is space. Although that might not cause any "havoc". I have built several satellites and i contributed to the cubesat project. Building a rocket is something else entirely.
>>
>>745036613
also, modding a phone might probe to be more complicated tan building it from grounds-up using an embedded chip, let's say an arduino or something. Your transceiver needs not to be very powerful, since the higher you get, the better the signal travels (near earth anyways).
>>
If the 4chan community actually manages this nothing can stop us
>>
idk why you would mod a phone. commercial used satellites are a thing, and its not hard to do communication with a rocket as you think. the issue is money. which why i believe this wont happen
>>
>>745036316
Bumping for interest.
The /pol/ tread made me loose my shit.
>>
science fag here.
its possible but it will cost alot of resources and brains.
no amature rocket have ever left the gravitational pull of earth but i have a feeling 4chan can do it.
i cant help with building the rocket itself but i can help calculating and prototyping.
>>
>>745037967
p.s i am experienced with armature rocketry
>>
Finally some oc bump
>>
>>745037967

A balloon then... cheap, easy, and amateurs do it all the time. Possible to piggyback launch for LEO?
>>
>>745038378

You'd need rocket guidance for that, Because there's no guarantee it'll even be facing up once it comes time to ignite
>>
I would simply program a rasberry pi to control a simple camera and a digital transmitter.
BTW, cell phones won't work in space. You would have to use a satellite phone - far more expensive.

Is this just a LEO mission or a mars mission? The requirements are vastly different.

>>
>>745038378
>>745038526
also you will need more thrust to make the rocket accelerate and make sure the ballon is EXTREMLY stable because the rocket isnt being launched from a solid ground.
>>
frankly speaking i would serve 10 years in jail to see a kekistan flag in space
>>
>>745037967
Satellites are not nearly out of the gravitational field of the earth, the gravitational pull is almost thesame as on the surface. The reason they don't crash down is that they have enough speed tangent to the earth. Thus you don't only need to accelerate upwards you will have to make the rocket turn and accelerate tangent to the earth. This is way more complicated.

Sooo, how can a /b/tard can help with this without any knowledge of rocket science? Besides of spamming it on 4chan
>>
>>745040347
this

it's why we can simulate microgravity on earth via free fall.
>>
>>745040347
i know that but when i said "leave the gravitational pull of the earth" i meant sending a rocket where the gravity of the earth is weaker so it wont instantly crash into the surface as if you threw it out of a window.
>>
>>745040518
Kek
>>
>>745040863
That's fucking retarded
>>
But to what end? Let's say we build a camera attached to a sending device (difficult) and got it to space in a home built rocket (insanely involved and difficult).... Then what? Do you expect anyone to give a shit?

Our time would be better spent doing something like flying a camera over secret locations on a near space balloon or dropping red pill leaflets over north Korea. That's honestly probably more doable depending on where you launch from
>>
>>745040518
Spamming? or advertising? Your call, we need smart people but we're not going to get the people we need entirely from /b/ or /pol/.
Spamming is a vital role in this operation.

threads for weeks to come.

if we are gonna launch a rocket this far from the surface our best bet is to use a hybrid engine.
it wouldn't be easy but some of amateur rocket builders use this model so its not impossible
>>
>>745040863
gravity doesn't work that way....

if you rode an elevator out to where iss orbits and stepped off you'd fall back to earth.
>>
>>745042240
Seems a good option
>>
>>745042292
Thank you for not being a fucking retard
>>
>>745036316
rockets cost money, and I doubt anyone here is willing to spend enough money to build a rocket to get a phone into space just to see if they can.
>>
>>745042292
i know that but that's not what i meant.
if you did the same thing with the elevator halfway to the moon you'd still fall back to earth.
what i meant is sending a rocket far enough from earth so it will be considered to be in outer space.
i thought i was pretty obvious...
>>
>>745041483
Oh god yes, is it going to be a swastika rocket?

Anon, we get 8.2 million visitors every month. If even a fraction of those put forward five bucks, we can fund a space program.

Even better, a 4chan version of the voyager probe full of something from every board and launch it into deep space (or as close as we can get it)
>>
>>745044165
Would be way too expensive fuel wise + the fuel use will increase because the weight will be much higher
>>

I mean, save it digitally, we'd likely be able to toss it on a micro SD card, and maybe an image of pepe in a space-suit rolled around it

maybe we can attach one of these to a high altitude balloon?
it should be stable enough
>>
>>745044904
jet engines wont work outside the atmosphere.
if you put rockets instead it will work but i dont think it will be stable enough. someone needs to build a prototype first
>>
>>745044394
No i mean that you will need a shitton more fuel to get far enough away not to bbe affected by the gravitational pull and fall back
>>
I'm sure that any kind of extra weight would be a factor, but sending a small object would maximze keks.. a small endangered animal? Some furry porn? A human embryo? Dragon dildo maybe?

The Starting point:
>Step 1. For right now our first goal should be creating a more secure webpage for sharing ideas and discussing things which are borderline illegal. If not out right illegal.
>Darkweb would be a good platform for this.

Some of things we'll need but not limited to:
>1. A safe platform to work on and communicate with each other.
>2. A method of labeling anonymous people as (newfriend, trusted, mathematician, physicist, chemist, metal worker, supplier, ect.)
>3. An open chat, a trusted chat, and team chats. This is for when we later are more structured and have groups of people working on specific aspects of the project.
>Chan boards aren't out of the question if that's what everyone wants.
>4. A way of saving our work/documents while restricting access based on aforementioned labels.

Note: If there is any security conscious people, people with a deep understanding of anonymity, or deep-webdesign. Your input is much needed on this step. We need to make sure the safety of everyone involved is at our upmost priority.

>>
There are so many obstacles for this project, but it's not impossible.

Some want this project to be done in a way that keeps anonymity, and that by itself is logistical nightmare.

Then simply put, you either need :
- A huge fundraising / crowd funding, since it's expensive as fuck
- A autisticly genius level Anon scientist that knows a fuck ton about rocket science and how to build all of this.

Also the basic objectives are to be defined. A single stage rocket, (since more stages would be crazy difficult) could only put the rocket in Low Earth Orbit and fall back down.
You need at least 2 thrusts to put it into real orbit around the earth.
