If you are actually sure that all you need to do to get the job is get an interview, then you shouldn't wait around for them to call you. Apply online, like they want you to, and then go to the place and ask to talk to the hiring manager. Go with an agenda. Why are you there? What is important to you? Getting an interview? Meeting the team? Finding out more aboit the job and company?

If your goal is to get an interview (which is likely), and If the hiring manager is there, ask to speak with them. If the person at the counter says that they are only doing online applications, just insist that they let you speak to the hiring manager.

Once you have the managers ear, say something like this: "Hi my name is _______. I applied for your _______ position that I saw on _______. If you are free, I would like to schedule an interview with you.

This approach is incredibly simple and also insanely effective. People smell bullshit. The manager knows you are there to increase your odds of getting hired. They know you want an interview. So just ask for one. They will usually say yes. Sometimes they will interview you on the spot and just give you the job same day.
