Hi Anon, over the last few months I've been having a bit of a problem.
My GF and I have been going out for about 2 and a half years, but over the last year or so she stopped really caring what she looked like when with me. She wouldn't make any real effort unless we were going out somewhere and showers 2-3 times a week. It just seems quite annoying that I'm not worth 5 mins each morning to try and impress or even the occasional morning. And it seems mostly the times she dresses when we go out are mostly to dress up in front of her friends. Im in good shape and play hockey and gym almost every day. Its not like i don't make an effort for her, so just a bit frustrating.
Any advice on the best way to go about this?

This. What it sounds like is she's just comfortable around you. She has your affection so she doesn't feel the need to impress you 100% of the time. That's not a bad thing but if it does bother you, just talk to her. Make it seem like a compliment and she'll eat it up

Tell her you really like it when she dresses up, and you think it makes her look really beautiful. Like think of a dress or shirt or something she wears that you like and be like "[that garment] looks really good on you, you should wear it more often."
Be honest about it though.

Or tell her that you really appreciate it when she takes the time to shower and do her makeup in the morning. Stuff like that to nudge her towards taking better care of herself. Also lead by example: shower, groom and dress well each day. Keep up on being /fit/ and attend to your manscaping. It's harder for her to say no when you're on top of it all the time

femanon here. she is so comfortable around you she views you as family. she's a keeper. she'll probably say yes if you ever propose. take it as a compliment I'm serious bc she's giving a big sign she may very well be your future wife. pick your battles carefully on this one. if you wanna see her dolled up more often take her out more. I'm not even saying spend a bunch of money. maybe community events if you want to keep your budget low.
